Let your birding begin at Book Family Farm for the early morning Bald Eagle fly-out from their foothill roosting site. The farms' fields attract Sandhill Cranes and a variety of resident and wintering birds. Our second stop will be at the Llano Seco Viewing Platform. This is an ideal spot for viewing a large number of geese and ducks in one location. Dress for potentially cold, wet weather and wear sturdy hiking footwear.

Since the mid-1980s, David has shared his extensive knowledge about all aspects of the natural world with hundreds of groups. His educational programs have focused on Point Reyes, Alaska, Arizona, Baja California, Yosemite, Death Valley and other parts of California. Tess McGuire has been birding and making hats for the last twenty years. She became an avid kayaker when she bought a house on Clear Lake. Now that she lives near Mendocino she paddles the local rivers and birds the coast. Perhaps some day she'll be brave enough to go out on the ocean.
