Description

During the first half of the 20th century, the Peregrine Falcon became endangered because of widespread use of pesticides. However, since the ban of DDT in the early 1970’s and through massive conservation, the Peregrine has rebounded, adapted to many human-altered landscapes, and become a success story of the Endangered Species Act. In this presentation, we will summarize our on-going research of Peregrine Falcons in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and provide details related to population status, movement ecology, foraging, site fidelity, and other behaviors.
